Voltcom awarded 132kV Wooden Pole OHL Works05.04.2016

Cardiff based construction firm Voltcom Construction, have been awarded a new build project for the construction of a heavy duty wood pole connection in Scotland by SP Energy Networks.

The connection will span 16km between Ewe Hill and Gretna and involve the design, project management and construction of 180 wood pole structures, Phase Conductor and Optical Phase Ground Wire.

Design work has already commenced and with construction due to start in June 2016 Robin Bewsey, Voltcom’s Lead Design Manager comments ‘we are delighted to be providing design in such a prestigious project as this one. Voltcoms design team was established in 2015 and has added value both internally and to our clients. One year on and we have recruited a further two technical roles to our department and they will be working on this project as well as contributing to other recent awards”.

This award follows quickly on the success of Voltcom Construction securing a four year framework with SP Energy Networks servicing the Dee Valley & Oswestry district in mid Wales.
